Big guns route

(2024 Route will be posted closer to the ride)

this is the big one!

This is the route that will test every bit of your cycling skill.  There are long climbs (8450' of total climbing), big distance (92 miles), and a couple of really rough sections that probably were roads at one time!  We reworked last year's route based on rider feedback (less road, more "rough" dirt) and were able to create this 60% unpaved "double loop" route.  Reliable food and water stops are located around miles 26, 57, and 63 so there are options, but you will have to do some planning to ensure you carry plenty of food and water to get you from one stop to the next.  You'll be in for a long day in the saddle, but you'll see some of the coolest spots in the area with other super awesome folks!

The group will depart the field at 7:30am in an effort to be on the road early as daylight is becoming shorter! Sunset on ride day is at 6:11pm so while you should have plenty of time to get back before dark, a bad day could put you into a tough spot so please be mindful of your pace. There are multiple “bail out” points that are marked on the RWGPS route if you want to cut the official route.
